Choir practice was cancelled last week because of lack of attendance. Singers are needed to have a choir.
Worship services begin at 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary at 8th and Runnels. Lectionary passages for the Fourteenth Sunday after Pentecost are: Deuteronomy 4:1-2, 6-9; Psalm 15; Mark 7:1-8, 14-15, 21-23; James 1:17-27. Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service. The sermon topic is “Choosing My Religion” Organist/music director Gabe Martinez provides music for the service.
Sunday School begins at 9:45. Rev. Cross is teaching the Children’s Class. Tom Koger leads the Youth Class, which meets in the Tent Room. The Discovery Class is pursuing a study, Think Like Jesus, authored by Randy Frazee. Vicki Miller and Helen Glass are leading the study, which will continue through mid-September.
Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship is in the parlor between Sunday School and worship. Ellen Austin is host for this week.
Choir Practice is at 6:30 p.m. in the Parlor. Come and help us make a joyful noise!
WEDNESDAY
Women’s Bible Study, a multi-denominational group, meets in the Library at 10:00 a.m.
The History Lectures, moderated by Nancy Michaelis, are continuing in FPC Theater Room, Noon-1:00 p.m.
THURSDAY
Everyone is invited to join the Lunch Bunch at 11:30 a.m.
The Session meets in the Library at 6:00 p.m. on August 26.
