NOTICE: Music Director Gabe Martinez has announced that Choir practice will start the second week in August for Chancel Choir to begin in September.
Appreciation to Linda Lindell for providing music for the worship service last Sunday and to Ransom Colette for the oboe solo on “Drei Romanzen Op. 94” by Robert Schumann as the Offertory.
SUNDAY
Worship services begin at 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary at 8th and Runnels. Lectionary passages for the Seventh Sunday after Pentecost are: Amos 7:7-15; Ephesians 1:3-14; Psalm 85:8-13. Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service. The sermon topic is “Dropping the Plumb Line.” Organist/music director Gabe Martinez provides music for the service.
Sunday School begins at 9:45. Rev. Cross is teaching the Children’s Class. Tom Koger leads the Youth Class, which meets in the Tent Room. The Discovery Class will finish the DVD study Be Like Jesus. The class begins a sequel to the previous study, this one entitled Think Like Jesus an also authored by Randy Frazee. The purpose of this study is to help participants answer the question, “What do I believe and why does it matter?” Vicki Miller is leading the class.
Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship is in the parlor between Sunday School and worship. Susan Wilson is host for this week. Vicki McLean was host last week.
WEDNESDAY
Women’s Bible Study, a multidenominational group, meets in the Theater Room at 10:00 a.m.
The History Lectures, moderated by Nancy Michaelis in FPC Theater Room at Noon-1:00 p.m.
Lectionary Bible Study meets in the Library at 5:00 p.m.
THURSDAY
Everyone is invited to join the Lunch Bunch at 11:30 a.m.
