Are you hungry?

There are numerous themes and images that come up in the Bible over and over. Last week we saw the imagery of the vineyard three times. Vineyards and fertile gardens are timeless themes and images that the Bible uses to make various points about our relationship with God.

This week we get images of feasts. What's the theme of these images? Some show God laying out feasts for people in the midst of strife and danger. The image is also used to describe the Kingdom of God. It's also used to show describe different human relationships with God. All of these scenes give courage and hope. That's a good thing right about now.

The lectionary selections this week are: Psalm 23; Isaiah 25:1-9; Matthew 22:1-14; Philippians 4:1-9.

The long running Wednesday community classes are on hiatus at the moment and will resume on October 25th. Look for further information on the new offerings.
