News:

Are you in the 99% or the 1%? No, not the 1% who control the vast majority of wealth and power or the 99% who do not. This is not a question about which of those groups you belong to.

In Luke 15, Jesus addressed the 99% who presume the 1% who visibly need for mercy should not be associated with. There are three parables that Jesus told in response to the Pharisees asking why Jesus associated with sinners when He should be associating only with righteous people. Which of those groups are you part of? The righteous whom Jesus does not take meals with or the sinners with whom Jesus does share the table?

Embedded in this chapter are discussions about purity, holiness, sinfulness, self-awareness, and God's response to the human condition. These passages are often read during Lent, but we have been on a journey through Luke this season after Pentecost, so God has asked us to study these ideas again.

This Sunday adult Sunday School Discovery Class returns with a study of Louie Giglio's "Don't Give The Enemy A Seat At Your Table." This work is rooted in Psalm 23. The class begins at 9:45 a.m.

See you Sunday!
