GREAT COURSES LECTURE SERIES OF AMERICA IN THE GLIDED AGE AND PROGRESSIVE ERA
Begins Wednesday, March 8, 2023
12:00-1:00 p.m.
First Presbyterian Church, 701 Runnels, Big Spring, Theater Room Lecturer: Professor Edward T. O’Donnell, Ph.D.
Please join us for these 24 video lecture series which examine how big business and economic inequity grew to mind-blowing heights in America during the Gilded Age (1865-1900) leading to reform and regulatory responses in the Progressive Era (1900-1920). This era comes alive as the professor carefully surveys every aspect of American society including class structure, art, technological innovation, big business, everyday life, extravagance of the super wealthy, politics, labor strife, conservationism, and civil rights to name a few.
Each 30-minute lecture is followed by an in-class group discussion. There is no charge, so just bring your interest, your knowledge, your experiences and join us each Wednesday at 12:00 at the First Presbyterian Church, 701 Runnels, in the Theater Room.
