What's Your Power?

When I used to take my sons to Atlanta Braves baseball games, we particularly liked the "walking on" music of relief pitchers. Our favorite pitcher was Craig Kimbrel and his song was the Guns and Roses hit 'Welcome to the Jungle'. It was intimidating and savage and so was he. Another popular song at games was just the refrain "You've got the power."

Well this week in our scripture readings fiery power comes ultimately from a divine source but is lodged in people who don't realize they have it within themselves. Is it possibly that we might have power within us that we don't realize? What does it take for us to actually realize that power exists and to use it in the way God wants us to use it? Can we lose it if we're not thankful for it?

These are some of the questions this week as we consider these scriptures:
Psalm 111; 2 Kings 5:1-3,7-15; Luke 17:11-19; 2 Timothy 1:6.
