First Presbyterian Church now has a Sermon Podcast on iTunes. The sermon from last week may be found at www.fpcbigspring.com/Sermons. For anyone wishing to join in a daily prayer, one may go to www.fpcbigspring.com and select Daily Prayers. Rev. Allen Cross also posts a Weekly Devotional at that website, which may provide food for thought or help during time of stress or feelings of isolation. The devotional is posted on Wednesdays.
Presbyterian Women, who were scheduled to meet Tuesday, October 27, had to cancel the meeting because of inclement weather. A new time and date will be announced later in Faith Notes, the Sunday bulletin, and in the Herald Church News.
Wednesday Lectionary Bible Study will not meet this week since Rev. Cross has gone to visit his mother and celebrate her 90th birthday in Washington D. C.
The Thursday Lunch Bunch meets in Fellowship Hall at 11:30.
The Service Committee is providing bags and lists for items requested for the Annual Food Drive. Members are invited to return the filled bags by November 8.
Members of the church have been reading the Psalm during Sunday worship. Members are asked to volunteer to read the Psalm for one Sunday or for each Sunday in the month.
The Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship in the parlor between Sunday School and worship has resumed. Jenn Patterson will be host for this week.
Lectionary passages for All Saints’ Day (the Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost) are: Psalm 34:1-10, 22; Matthew 5:1-12; I John 3:1-3. Rev. Cross has chosen for his sermon topic: ”.How To Be a Saint” As a part of the commemoration of All Saints’ Day, we will remember those members of the congregation who have joined the Church Triumphant this year: Marj Carpenter, Gerald Ferguson, Lynn Glass, Joe Horton, and Flynn Long. Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service. Organist/music director Gabe Martinez leads the music on the organ and piano.

A copy of the liturgy for the service may be downloaded from the website or by receiving a copy by calling the church office
