The congregation wishes to acknowledge appreciation to Gabe Martinez, music director, for the trumpet solo “Fairest Lord Jesus” as the offertory last Sunday. Mr. Martinez also accompanied himself on the organ.

Allen Cross also posts a Weekly Devotional at that website, which may provide food for thought or help during time of stress or feelings of isolation. The devotional is posted on Wednesdays
Presbyterian Women meet Tuesday, October 27, for Bible study and the monthly meeting at 2:00 p.m. in the Theater Room.
Wednesday Lectionary Bible Study continues to meet in Fellowship Hall at 6:00 p.m. with physical participants and welcomes those who are staying at home to join by computer on Zoom. The link to join in the Zoom group will be posted on the church website and in Faith Notes.
The Thursday Lunch Bunch meets in Fellowship Hall at 11:30.
Thursday evening, October 22, at 6:00 p.m. the October Stated Session Meeting will be held in Fellowship Hall.
The Discovery Class has begun a new series by Max Lucado entitled You Are Never Alone. Vicki Miller is leading the class, which meets in the Theater Room.
The Service Committee is providing bags and lists for items requested for the Annual Food Drive. Members are invited to return the filled bags by November 8.
Members of the church have been reading the Psalm during Sunday worship. Tom Koger will be the reader for the rest of this month. Members are asked to volunteer to read the Psalm for one Sunday or for each Sunday in the month.
The Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship in the parlor between Sunday School and worship has resumed. Susan Wilson will be host for this week.
Lectionary passages for the Twenty-first Sunday after Pentecost (Reformation Sunday) are: Psalm 90:1-6; Leviticus 19:1-2, 15-18; Matthew 22:34-46. Rev. Cross has chosen for his sermon topic: ”Lives of Holiness.” As a protestant church in the reformed tradition, we will celebrate Reformation Sunday with our Call to Worship, Prayer of Confession, and Affirmation of Faith from the Scot’s Confession of Faith. The Noisy Offering will be collected during the Children’s Moment. Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service. Organist/music director Gabe Martinez leads the music on the organ and piano.
