Easter Sunday Worship Service was a blessed experience with all the people who came out to be together in celebrating the Resurrection.
Those who attended the Maundy Thursday Service in the chapel expressed appreciation for the trumpet duet by Gabriel Martinez and Jayden Burciaga on “Were You There?”
Wednesday Lectionary Bible Study, now meeting at at 5:00, in the church library, will not meet this week.
The Thursday Lunch Bunch meets in Fellowship Hall at 11:30.
Church Committee meetings this month are Monday, April 12, Communications at 5:30 p.m.; Wednesday, April 8, Worship at 3:00 p.m.; Thursday, April 15, Service at 5:30 p.m.;and Thursday, April 22, the Session at 6:00 p.m.
Presbyterian Women meet Tuesday, April 27 at 2:00 p.m.
The Discovery Class continues a study by Susan Robb, Senior Associate Minister at Highland Park United Methodist in Dallas, Seven Words – Listening to Christ from the Cross, which will be led by Helen Glass. The fourth session is “Woman, Here Is Your Son.”
The Youth Bible Study, which is meeting in the Tent Room, is studying “Faith Questions: Being Presbyterian” led by Tom Koger.
The Children’s Class, led by Vicki Miller, will study about the Easter season.
The Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship is in the parlor between Sunday School and worship. Kay Kennemur is host for this week.
Lectionary passages for the Second Sunday of Easter are: Psalm 133; Acts 4:32-35; I John 1:1-2:2; John 20:19-31. Rev. Hailey Malcolm, Presbytery Liaison with Tres Rios Presbytery, will lead the worship service. The sermon topic is “Easter Expectations” Organist/music director Gabe Martinez leads the music on the organ and piano and provides the Introit and Offertory.
