FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, BIG SPRING
SUNDAY
Worship services begin at 10:50 a.m. in the Sanctuary at 8th and Runnels. Lectionary passages for the Sixth Sunday of Easter are: Acts 10:26-40; Psalm 98; I John 5:1-6; John 15:9-17. Rev. Allen Cross will lead the worship service. The sermon topic is “What Are You Laying Your Life Down For?” Organist/music director Gabe Martinez leads the music on the organ and piano and provides the Introit and Offertory. Mothers will be honored with a flower as they enter the Sanctuary this Mothers’ Day.
Sunday School begins at 9:45. Rev. Cross is teaching the Children’s Class. Tom Koger leads the Youth Class, which is studying “Faith Questions: Being Presbyterian in the Tent Room. The Discovery Class began a DVD study Be Like Jesus authored by Randy Frazee, formerly partner senior minister with Max Lucado in San Antonio – now in Kansas City. Vicki Miller leads the first two lessons. Rip Patterson will be the next leader.
Sunday morning Take Ten fellowship is in the parlor between Sunday School and worship. Ellen Austin is host for this week.
WEDNESDAY
Lectionary Bible Study meets in the Library at 5:00 p.m. All ages are welcome.
THURSDAY
Everyone is invited to join the Lunch Bunch at 11:30 a.m. Bring a lunch and join the group in Fellowship Hall.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITY
The Service Committee asks everyone to bring hygiene products for those in need. Regular sizes of deodorant, shave cream, razors, combs, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouth wash, lotion, shampoo, dental floss, conditioner, wash cloths. Please bring these items to the church by May 16th.
