All you need is love

Love is one of those things that's a praiseworthy ideal. Love for all is a universally accepted theory that breaks apart when subjected to real world human interaction. Most of us have an exception list that we've drawn up or we love those who deserve love according to our definition of deserving. The Bible tells us that loving neighbor is a commandment equal to loving God and there's no exception list. Love God and love neighbor sum up all God's commands but they may be the most difficult commands to fulfill.

Our lectionary readings this week are: Psalm 1; Leviticus 19:1-2,15-18; Matthew 22:34-46; 1Thessalonians 2:1-8.

Wednesday classes resume this week. The library is newly carpeted and painted and ready to be used for Bible study or meetings or just taking a quiet moment for reading and thinking. This Sunday is our homecoming worship service in the chapel. It will be followed by the fifth Sunday pot luck lunch. We hope this will be a terrific gathering of the church family and church families.
