10-30-2023 Pastor’s Perspectives

November is a month of transition. The entire summer has been a Pentecost journey of the Holy Spirit showing us how to be disciples of Christ Jesus. Now, we prepare for the beginning of a new liturgical year that begins on the first day of Advent.

Sunday November 5th, we'll celebrate All Saints Day and remember the folks in our congregation we've lost in the past year.

 ·      Monday November 13th there will be a budget meeting to review the church needs for 2024.

·      We are working on nominations of new elders for 2024.

·      Thanksgiving is November 23rd.

·      The final Sunday of this year is November 26th, Christ the King Sunday.

·      Sunday December 3rd is the first Sunday of Advent.

Emily Dickinson said this about autumn:

Besides the autumn poets sing,

A few prosaic days

A little this side of the snow

And that side of the haze.
