The Devil made me do it!

When confronted by God, Eve claimed that offering the apple to Adam was not her fault. The devil had tricked her. Adam claimed that his trust in Eve was misplaced so surely he was not to blame. This story illustrates the natural human inclination to escape personal accountability. It also illustrates how, even in a beautiful and abundant garden, human nature will grasp at something else that humanity thinks it needs more.

Doesn't it all come down to decisions? Paul said we need to be careful about the source of the glory we seek. What is visible may be only temporary. This week we consider human choices. How do people think of themselves as choosers? How do we decide what we want? What are we looking for and why isn't God enough?
