Are you in or are you out?

For Tuesday, August 23, 2022

If you own a dog, I'll bet you stand at the door a lot and ask: "Are you coming in or staying out?" And your hound might just look up at you, emoting the reply: "I'm doing whatever you do." I often step outside just so my pooch will feel more comfortable and get his business done. Sometimes he goes outside just to come back in or visa versa. How annoying. I wonder how God feels about us when we act this way.

Our scriptures this week explore the question of whether to be outside or inside and which place we think has value compared to which place God thinks has value. The scriptures are: Psalm 112; Proverbs 25:6-7; Luke 14:1, 7-14; Hebrews 13:1-8, 15-16. Come to Lectionary Bible study this Wednesday at 5 p.m. and explore this with us.

You are also invited to the Women's Bible Study on Wednesday morning and the history lecture series at Noon on Wednesday. Come to the fellowship hall this Saturday morning for our end of the month prayer breakfast. We begin at 8 a.m.

See you out there.
Allen
