A multi-week class on Christian theology will be offered starting April 17th using Dr. Shirley Guthrie’s book Christian Doctrine. Guthrie, whose family is well known in Big Spring and Coahoma, Texas, wrote this work in 1994 as a lay person’s guide and asks basic questions such as “How can we find God?” and “What does God want with us?”

The class will be on Monday evenings at 6:00 in the First Presbyterian Church library and the book can be purchased online through either Amazon or Christian Book. Dr. Guthrie was a student of Reformed Protestant theologian Karl Barth and was teacher and mentor of FPC’s Rev. Cross at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, GA.
